Patrick is a PhD student and joined our lab in 2016 after completing his B.Sc. (2013) and M.Sc. (2016) degrees in mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen university, Germany. During his master studies, he specialized in biomedical textiles and focused in his master thesis on warp-knitted spacer fabrics as scaffolds for tissue-engineered, prevascularized full-thickness skin grafts.
In his PhD research, Patrick investigates electrostatic interactions of cellulose nanocrystals and charged polymers with emphasis on the structure-property relationships of the composite materials.
